UNFPA is the United Nations’ lead agency for sexual and reproductive health and rights. Its U.S.-based office, USA for UNFPA, supports global initiatives in more than 150 countries.

As a Digital Communications Consultant, I advised on digital strategy, produced weekly social content series, continued the development of the organization’s donor newsletter, and authored long-form news articles for the website.

DIGITAL STRATEGY

USA for UNFPA’s digital presence spanned Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and X.

Each week, I developed tailored content plans for every platform, with storytelling at the core.

A key priority was highlighting UNFPA’s work across more than 150 countries. I distilled complex updates from country offices—from Sudan and Yemen to Gaza and Ukraine—into compelling, accessible stories about women and girls, designed for impact in the digital space.

I also reprogrammed Instagram highlight reels to spotlight the organization’s core areas of work.

LONG FORM
CONTENT

I contributed long-form news content for USA for UNFPA’s website, reporting on crises such as the wars in Gaza and Ukraine, drawing from updates shared by on-the-ground aid workers.

I also sought out and elevated stories from underreported humanitarian emergencies in places like Yemen, Somalia, and Bangladesh, ensuring these narratives, and many more, reached a wider audience.
